Incorporated in 1990, Tata Metaliks is a subsidiary of Tata Steel Ltd., and is engaged in the manufacture and sale of Foundry Grade pig iron and ductile iron pipes. It has five Mini Blast Furnaces located at Kharagpur in West Bengal and Redi in Maharashtra. With consistent technological upgradation, the company increased its capacity from 90,000 TPA in 1994 to 425,500 TPA in 2006. Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Technologies Ltd. were employed to conduct an environmental audit and to implement an enterprise-wide integrated information system respectively. During 2017, projects such as capacity expansion of DI pipe plant, a coke oven project, a 10 MW Captive Power Plant, modernisation and expansion of Mini Blast Furnace 1, and an oxygen enrichment plant were commissioned and the Scheme of Amalgamation of Tata Metaliks DI Pipes Limited with Tata Steel Limited was also filed at the High Court of Calcutta. Tata Metaliks also issued and allotted Equity Shares and Convertible Warrants to Tata Steel Limited and fully redeemed the Non-Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares with fixed coupon rate of 8.5 p.a. In 2020, a Pulverised Coal Injection plant was commissioned and the Scheme of Amalgamation of Tata Metaliks Ltd with Tata Steel Long Products Ltd was approved. With a mission to maximize stakeholder value, Tata Metaliks has been successfully increasing its production capacity and utilizing advanced technologies to reduce costs and improve operational efficiencies.
