About MSP Steel & Power Ltd

MSP Steel Power Ltd is a Kolkata-based steel manufacturer that produces iron and steel with a diversified portfolio. Established in 1968 as Adhunik Rollers Private Limited, they changed their name to MSP Steel Power Pvt Ltd in 2003 and became a public company the same year. With their TMT bars named under the brand name of MSP Gold Theremax TMT, they have a commercial manufacturing unit at Raigarh in Chattisgarh. In 2006 they entered an initial public offering of Rs.16 crores and in 2007 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh with a proposed investment of Rs.8500 million. They started commercial production of their Coal Washery MS Billets and additional 8 MW Power Plant in 200607, and their two million tonnes cement plant in 200708. During 2009-2010, Structural Rolling Mill, with a capacity of 128000 MTPA, was commissioned. Captive Coal Block of Madanpur South Coal Company Ltd was allotted by the Government of Chattisgarh and is expected to be commissioned during 201011. Two new projects of 18 MW power plant and 115500 MTPA sponge iron plant were commissioned in January 2011. The company is also expanding with a 9 lacs MTPA of Beneficiation Plant, 6 lacs MTPA of Pellet Plant, 34 MW of Power Plant and 117952 MTPA of Billet Plant. In 2013-14, one new Induction Furnace Brick Making Plant, Expansion of Rolling and Structural Rolling Mill, and Hot Billet Charging System in Rolling and Structural Rolling Mill were set up, and a major part of the cumulative infra project of Rupees Seventy Eight Crores Seventy Six Lacs was completed and capitalized.
