About PNB Gilts Ltd

Punjab National Bank Gilts Ltd (PNB Gilts) is a leading primary dealer in India’s government securities market. Formed in 1996, PNB Gilts Ltd. is a subsidiary of Punjab National Bank, and is licensed by the Reserve Bank of India as a Non Banking Financial Company. The company offers a wide range of products and services, including Treasury Bills, Central Government Dated Securities, State Government securities, Mutual Fund Distribution and Investment/ trading in Equity and Equity Derivatives. It also provides advisory services for managing government securities portfolios. PNB Gilts received an Oversubscription for an Initial Public Offer (IPO) of 3.5 crore shares in July 2000 at an offer price of Rs 30 per share, which increased the paid up capital to Rs 135.01 crore. The company continued to be profitable, with a consistent track record of dividend payment and diversified operations by expanding into merchant banking and taking up fee-based activities such as project appraisal, loan syndication, feasibility studies and corporate advisory services. As of March 2010, the company has discontinued its merchant banking activities and closed its branches at Kolkata and Bangalore.
