About Miven Machine Tools Ltd

Miven Machine Tools Ltd, formerly Giddings Lewis India Ltd was established in 1985 by Mysore Kirloskar in technical collaboration with The Warner and Swasey Company, a subsidiary of Giddings Lewis Inc. USA. Mysore Kirloskars 38 equity stake was bought out by the foreign partner and the name of the company was changed to the present one in July 2002. An issue of 62 CNC turning machines was made in Nov. 1986. In 1989, the company's debt/equity ratio was 5.4:1 and a rights issue was made to defuse the crisis. The clientele of the company includes Bharat Forge, Premier Automobiles, Escorts Tractors, BEML, Hindustan Motors, and Audco I. The company is now diversifying into the manufacture of CMM with a 100 buyback arrangement for selling the product in the global market. It has also developed the ORION series CNC chucker and is working on cost-effective vertical axis turning machines. Technical training at Fadal Engineering Company, USA for VMC has been organised. The company is also looking for a partner for sales, service, and after-sales activities in the domestic market.
