About Stovec Industries Ltd

Stovec Industries Limited (SIL) was incorporated in Jun 73, with its current name being acquired in Aug 88. The company is engaged in the manufacture of different products related to screens, graphics, industrial machinery, electronics and sintered metal/ferrites. A rights issue premium in Feb 93, with a project cost of Rs 26.78 crores, was raised to finance modernisation, diversification and expansion. In Apr 96, the BIFR decided to terminate the ferrite division as it was incurring losses. The company had tied up with several foreign entities such as Stork Screens, Prestwick Circuits, Imprinta and Stork Brabant, out of which Stork Screens, Netherlands holds a majority stake (51%). From exports to the US and Europe to merging with Stormex India in 1999, the company has had a successful journey. In 200102, SIL also entered into a contract with Stork NV for the refinery project at Pennar in South India.
