About Machino Plastics Ltd

Machino Plastic MPL, a joint venture between M.D Jindal (31%), Maruti Udyog (15.5%) and Suzuki Motors Japan (15.5%) was founded in 1987 and specializes in manufacturing injection moulding machines that produce bumpers, instrument panels and radiator grills primarily for Maruti Udyog. To increase production from 275000 cars to 330000 cars in 199697, they plan to add a 1600tonne machine in 199596 and also initiate backward integration to manufacture engineering plastics. Their plans involve entering a technical collaboration with Himont Incorporated US and setting up a production capacity of 4000tpa in the first phase . In the year 19992000 they acquired the lease for moulds from ICICI and SBI Leasing for a value of Rs.32 cr. to be supplied for a new Maruti Udyog model, the WagonR. With this one sole supplier status, Machino Plastics hopes to increase their capability and production to meet the rising demand.
