About Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd

LMC, a Coimbatore-based company and flagship of the Lakshmi group was incorporated in 1910. It is a composite mill which manufactures a range of cotton and viscose blended yarn, as well as grey and processed cloth. The company has 4 manufacturing units located Tamil Nadu and a subsidiary which provides cloth processing - United Bleachers. For exports, LMC sends cotton yarn and grey cloth to the UK, Germany, Italy, Bangladesh and Japan. In 1977 Coimbatore Cotton Mills amalgamated with LMC and the company has yarn processing facilities. LMC has been getting wind power generated from M/s Das Lagerway Wind Turbines Ltd. since 1997 but has faced some issues with the owners of the wind farm. The company saw an increase in production of fabrics in 200001 due to a full commissioning of additional looms and they have also drafted a modernisation scheme at a cost of Rs.39 crores.
