About L G Balakrishnan & Bros Ltd

L.G. Balakrishnan Bros Limited (LGB) is an automotive manufacturer, established in 1937 as a transport Company. It has evolved as a major supplier of chains, sprockets and metal formed parts for automotive applications. The Company's products are marketed under the Rolon brand, spanning five manufacturing plants in India, all certified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. USA as ISO 9001 Certified. The Company also produces wind and solar energy, with a total rated capacity of 10.53 MW across 22 windmills and 3.37 MW across three rooftop and three ON GRID solar systems. In 1994, LGB made two investment issues and received the ISO 9001 Certification from Det Norske Veritas Germany in 1993-94. During 2004-2005, the Company amalgamated Apten Forgings pvt Ltd with the company. Subsequently, the company acquired the operations of two Mysore-based firms - M/s MGM Industries and Swathe Gears and Heat Treaters. In 2007, LGB set up a new facility for manufacture of cold forgings at K. Palayam and in 2008 demerged its Forging Division as LGB Forge Limited. Further, in 2009, a joint venture company- Renold Chain India Private Limited- was incorporated with Renold Pic. In addition, LGB acquired GFM Corporation USA, disposed its investment held in LGB Textiles and made a Preferential Allotment of 55,32714 Equity Shares of Re. 1/- each to International Finance Corporation Washington. Recently, the Honble National Company Law Tribunal sanctioned the Scheme of Amalgamation of BCW V Tech India Private Limited with L.G. Balakrishnnan Bros Limited.
