About Rico Auto Industries Ltd

Rico Auto Industries (RAI) was established in March 1983 and became a public limited company in April 1985. It manufactures auto components such as wheel hubs, clutches, brake systems, engine housings, crank housings, gears and oil pumps for Maruti, amongst other products. In 1993, RAI issued equity shares and non-convertible debentures with warrants to finance the manufacturing and machining of grade/spheroidal graphite machines. RAI also entered into joint ventures with Daewoo Precision Industries from South Korea and FCC Co. from Japan, and in 1999 merged with Rico Agroils Ltd. In 19992000, the Dharuhera and Gurgaon plants underwent expansion with a total investment of Rs. 2800 lacs. Further investment was made to form an independent project to manufacture dies and moulds under the name of Rico Dies and Moulds Pvt. Ltd, and in 2005, RAI began subdivision of their equity share face value from Rs. 10/share to Re. 1/share. The company also disposed of their Agro unit at Silor Road Bundi in Rajasthan for a consideration of Rs. 783 lacs and sold their 605,000 equity shares of Hankook Motors Ltd with a full consideration amount of Rs. 60,500/. RAI is continuing to make advances, with plans to set up new plants in Bangalore and Manesar, to cater to the needs of domestic and international OEMs, and establish QS 9000 accreditation.
