About Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd

Kothari Sugars and Chemicals (KSCL) was incorporated in Tamil Nadu in1960 and is involved in the production of sugar, distillery, petrochemicals, drugs and other allied products. KSCL has two subsidiaries, Kothari Biotech Ltd and Kothari International trading Ltd. and is in collaboration with Krebskosmo Germany, Biazzi Switzerland, Cosden US and AVI Israel to produce polybutenes, para nitro chlorobenzene (PNCB), ortho nitro chlorobenzene (ONCB) and other products. To harness power efficiently, KSCL has set up a 12 MW plant for cogeneration and another 5.5 MW plant to produce the same. The company was in the process of debottlenecking and optimization to increase it's production capacity. The company has also tied up with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) to set up a 100 crores hydrogen peroxide unit in Tamil Nadu. In addition,KSCL also diversified into biotechnology with a joint venture with AVI Israel and is in the process of setting up an Anhydrous Alcohol plant.
