About Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd

Kirloskar Electric Company (KECL), promoted by Kirloskar Brothers Pune and with the assistance of Brush Electrical Engineering Co. UK, is one of the leading electrical equipment companies in India. The company specializes in the manufacture and sale of a range of electrical and electronic equipment including AC induction motors, transformers, AC generators, DC machines, power electronics, industrial electronics and many other components. In the year 1997, the company made a strategic acquisition of Kirloskar Systems at a cost of Rs 8 Crores. KECL has also diversified into non-conventional energy with the tie-up with the Wind Energy Group, UK. Furthermore, KEC North American Inc., USA has now become the subsidiary of KECL in North America for marketing and distribution. Although the company proposed to form a joint venture with Singapore based company, the terms had to be renegotiated and the venture was not formed. With the consistent advancements in the company's products, KECL remains an industry leader in the electrical equipment market in India.
