About KPT Industries Ltd

Kulkarni Power Tools (KPTL) was established in 1976 before it changed its name to the current one in 1994. Promoted by technocrat P. Kulkarni, the firm started commercial production in 1978 at their unit in Shirol District, Kolhapur. Offering a range of basic drills, grinders and sanders, the firm has an installed capacity of 75,000. To extend their reach, KPTL has a network of 175 dealers and 95 authorized service centers. It is the only power tool brand in India to have been accorded an ISI and ISO 9001 accreditation by BVQI. KPTL further established an Italian collaboration to diversify into cotton yarn processing with a unit in Chakan near Pune with an estimated investment of INR 30 crore. Additionally, in 1994 they entered a tie-up with Ryobi Japan to market their products.
