About Kakatiya Cement Sugar & Industries Ltd

Kakatiya Cement Sugar Industries Ltd (KCL) was established in July 1979 and is headquartered in Andhra Pradesh. It started with a plant to produce ordinary portland cement (OPC) with a licensed capacity of 200 tonnes per day (tpd), which was later expanded to a 600 tpd capacity for which it received funding from financial institutions and internal accruals. KCL manufactures various types of cement, limestone and other products and provides its services mainly in Andhra Pradesh. It joined forces with Fuller KCP to supply core equipment for a cement mill and is setting up a Cogeneration Power Project with a capacity of 17 megawatts (MW) at a cost of Rs.48.8 crores. The ccompany has also increased the sugar plant’s crushing capacity from 2,500tpd to 3,200tpd with an investment of Rs.4 crores. The Power Project is expected to be commissioned in February 2002 with 6MW to be supplied to the State Grid and 5MW for the cement unit and 6MW for the sugar unit.
