Indraprastha Medical Corporation (IMCL) was incorporated as a public company in 1988 and provides high quality and cost-effective hospital services. They came out with a public issue of 22,918,300 equity shares of Rs. 10 each in 1988. IMCL set up a multidisciplinary tertiary care referral hospital in Delhi in 1998-99 with a stroke unit and 6 operations theatres. In 2000, they signed MOUs with the Governments of Tanzania and Mauritius and established a PUVA-UV therapy unit for skin conditions. In 2001, a satellite clinic was opened for patient consultations and samples referral. Also in 2001, a four-digit emergency number 1066 was installed - the first of its kind in the country. In 2009-10, the hospital added endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), multi-organ transplant unit, renovated OPDs, and new orthopaedic operation theatre. In 2011, the expansion project was completed adding 127 additional beds and a Cosmetic Centre. In 2012, a robotic surgery centre and Apollo Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Bariatric centre was set up. Renal transplants were conducted in 2013-14 and a Pain Clinic was made in 2014. The Expansion Project of the main Hospital to add 127 additional Beds was completed in 2012-13. In 2019-2020, facilities like Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, 25-bed Dialysis Unit, renovated Orthopaedic operating theatre and Radiology Unit, were added. In 2021-22, a dedicated wing for Bone Marrow Transplant Unit was created. IMCL has constantly upgraded and renovated facilities in the hospital to increase patient comfort and operational efficiency over the years.
