About Hardcastle & Waud Mfg Co Ltd

Hardcastle Waud Manufacturing Company is a producer of powder paints used for consumer durables such as washing machines and synthetic resins. In 1995, they branched out and set up their own precolour coated steel coil project and entered into a technical collaboration agreement with Oxyplast Belgium to produce special types of epoxide resins. They have further expanded their resin plant. Furthermore, the company has been appointed by WD40, US to exclusively market their products in India and has even signed a joint venture agreement with Soudal Belgium to produce various adhesives, sealants, and roofing compounds. They have already commercialised new products like reactive polyamides, hammertone medium, trimethylol propane oleate and fast drying alkyd, and are developing and commercialising urea formaldehyde resins, acrylated alkyd, and thermoplastic acrylic resins. Unfortunately, due to adverse business conditions and competition from the small-scale sector, their subsidiary company, Excessant Asbestos Jointing Ltd, wound up in 1997. The company business was restructured in 1999 by demerging the Sarigam Unit and transferring it to Hawcoplast Chemicals Ltd.
