Elpro International Ltd, established in 1962, is a manufacturing business primarily focused on various types of electrical equipment such as Lighting Arresters, Varistors, Surge Arrestor and Real Estate development and Services. With an initial investment of 50% from the General Electric Company US, Elpro produces X-ray equipments for medical and industrial applications, Alnico magnets for domestic and industrial use, Calrod heating elements for medical and industrial use and other electrical instruments. In 1983, Elpro International entered into a technical collaboration with Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Japan, utilized to build the basic components for Lighting Arresters. 1987 saw the launch of two new high-tech products, computerized numerical control (CNC) systems with servo drives and metal oxide variators (MOV), in collaboration with GEC US and development of the MOV by the RD cell of Elpro respectively. On January 25 2018 Elpro Estates Limited became the Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Elpro, acquiring 13.80 i.e. 240200 equity shares of Rs 10/ each and with the Scheme of Amalgamation approved in July 11 2019 , merged with Elpro International Ltd from April 1 2018. During 202122, Elpro International Ltd sold 213402479 equity shares held by Elpro International Ltd in PNB Metlife India Insurance Company Limited for a total consideration of Rs 132309.54 Lakhs ceasing PNB Metlife India Insurance Company Limited to be a Associate Company. The switchgear division of Elpro International Ltd received ISO 9001 Certification in 19902000. Furthermore, Elpro diversified into Flexible Packaging by acquiring Mukund Flexpack Ltd and dedicated to dot com Portals but now into software development for insurance services.
