About Bombay Oxygen Investments Ltd

Bombay Oxygen Corporation, or BOCL, was formed in 1960 to manufacture and distribute industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, compressed air, acetylene, and medicinal oxygen. BOCL boasts collaborations with General Electrodes and Equipments Germany, and Messer AGS Gmbh, with whom they gain engineering services. The company also has subsidiaries, Savita Pharmaceuticals and Raptakos Brett Company who specialize in the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals. In March, 1995, the company installed a capacity of 237,000 cubic metres per annum for the manufacture of oxygen. In 1996, the company also disinvested in the shares of Raptakos, who therefore ceased to be a subsidiary. Recently, BOCL has taken steps to build a 130,000 tonne Oxygen plant at Kalwe, which is expected to become operational in 1999.
