About Birla Cable Ltd

Birla Ericsson Optical, incorporated in 1992, is a company engaged in the manufacture of optical fibre cables and Jelly Filled Telephone Cables. These fibre cables are superior to traditional ones in many ways, such as lower distortion, wider frequency band, etc. Primarily, these are used in the telecom sector and other places such as railway signalling and defence systems. During the first year of operations, it achieved a turnover of Rs 71.08 crore. The plant is capable of producing both Indian and international telecommunications cables. In 2000, it received SAMMAN PATRA for contributing to revenue in 1998-99. Lastly, it is also promoting a new company called Optic Fibre Goa, expected to be completed by Mar 2002.
