About Automotive Axles Ltd

Automotive Axles, a joint venture between the Kalyani Group and Rockwell International Corporation, manufactures all types of complete axles and axle assemblies including components and corresponding brake sets, and automotive gears and air and hydraulic activated brake assemblies. It started a Rs 30.3cr project in Jul 84 which enabled it to enter the capital market. However, the company encountered difficulties in 196 when its networth began to erode and it began restructuring its capital in consultation with financial institutions. The company came out with a rights issue in Feb.95 as part of its expansion project to develop manufacturing capacity of both axles and brakes. By 19992000, the company achieved an impressive 20% growth in sales as the company increased its penetration into both domestic and export markets. It has also secured a techincal licensing arrangement with both Ashok Leyland and Volvo India Ltd. and already achieved export business worth US 4 Million.
