About Ashirwad Steels & Industries Ltd

Ashirwad Steels and Industries Limited is an Indian based company with its main product being sponge iron. Its two main operations are sponge iron production and supply of hydrocarbon gas or liquefied petroleum LP gas. The company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Kolkata. In fiscal year 2010, the company produced 33,141 metric tons of sponge iron, with total installed capacity to produce 96,000 metric tons. In FY 2018-19, the board of directors sanctioned powers to dispose of its manufacturing units, including the Sponge Iron Plant located in Nalgonda Telengana, LPG Bottling Plants located in Uluberia West Bengal and Raigarh Chhattisgarh. These were sold to M/s. MPL Steel Industries Pvt. Ltd in November 2018 for a consideration value of Rs 18 Crores. The transactions were completed in January 2019.
