"The Boeing Company, located in Chicago, Illinois, designs, develops, produces, sells, services, and maintains military aircraft, commercial jetliners, satellites, human space travel, missile defence, and launch systems, along with its subsidiaries. Through its four operational sectors, the firm operates in more than 150 nations through four business verticals: Commercial Airplanes - Provides passenger and freight commercial jet aircraft and fleet support services. Defence, Space & Security - Researches, develops, manufactures, and modifies strategic defence and intelligence systems, manned and unmanned military aircraft and weapons systems, cyber and information solutions, satellite systems and intelligence systems. Global Services - Provides supply chain/logistics management, engineering, maintenance and modifications, upgrades and conversions, spare parts, pilot/maintenance training services, technical/maintenance documents, and data analytics/services. Boeing Capital - Handles financing exposure for a portfolio of operational and finance leases, notes and other receivables, assets held for sale or re-lease, and investments. In January 1916, Boeing officially began production of the Boeing Model 1 seaplane. During World War I, it was one of the most active contributors, providing seaplanes to the U.S. military. Since then, the business has continued to strive toward its goal of modernising the aerospace sector, producing new military and commercial aircraft types. It has also actively engaged in several space trips and worked with NASA to develop spacecraft over the years. This company highly values innovation. It devotes a significant portion of its profits to research and development. Boeing HorizonX and Boeing AnalytX are two of the company's most recent developments. It has also set new records for innovative aircraft, such as the maiden flights of the 787-10, T-X, and 727 MAX 9. As of 2020, Boeing is a component of the S&P 100, S&P 500, and the DJIA. It ranked 40th on the Fortune 500 list in 2019 and will be 121st on the Fortune Global 500 list in 2020. Its ticker symbol is BA, and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
