About Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd

Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers (TAC) is a member of the SPIC Southern Petro Industries Corporation corporate group. It manufactures soda ash and ammonium chloride fertiliser grade, using the Toyo soda dual process in technical collaboration with Hitachi Zosen Corporation Japan. Its accomplishments include 100 utilisation of chloride, reduction of effluents discharged from the plant and ISO accreditations. It is also rolling out a 5000 tonne per annum sodiumbicarbonate plant and biopesticide plant. To further its capabilities, the company is doubling soda ash and ammonium chloride production and setting up a technical-grade pesticide plant. Most recently, in October 2020, the Technical Grade Ammonium Chloride Plant with capacity of 10,000 tonnes per annum was commissioned. With these measures, TAC is looking to become a more efficient, sustainable and eco-friendly unit.
