Tayo Rolls Share Price

Tayo Rolls Ltd., India's leading roll producer, was established in 1991 with the help of Tata Steel, Yodogawa Steel Works and Nissho Iwai Corporation Japan. It has a 50% share in the domestic market and exports to countries like Srilanka, Singapore, Vietnam, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, UAE, Iran, South Africa and the US. To keep pace with the changing market and rolling practices, Tayo launched a modernization programme in 1991 with an outlay of Rs. 25 crores. This allowed the company to increase its capacity to 9750 tonnes per annum (tpa) of rolls and also enter into the manufacture of value-added castings mainly for the power, steel and cement sectors. In 2003, the name of the company was changed to "Tayo Rolls Limited". The company further entered into a licence and know-how agreement with Union Electric Steel Corporation UES USA for transferring the technology for finishing forged, rough-turned and hardened steel rolls. In 2000-2001, new cold-rolling mills were commissioned and a miniblast furnace to manufacture pig iron was planned, with an estimated cost of Rs. 10.30 crores. Thus, Tayo Rolls Limited, with its various collaborations, is aiming to expand its production of rolled steel further and continue being India's largest roll producer.
