About Switching Technologies Gunther Ltd

Since its incorporation in April 1988, Switching Technologies Gunther STGL has been a leader in the manufacturing and sale of Electronic components such as Reed Switches, Proximity Sensors and Ball Switches. STG is one of the few companies in India manufacturing reed switches, with one other based in Bangalore. Their unit in the Madras Export Processing Zone MEPZ manufactures reed switches used in the aircraft industry, industrial control equipment, automobiles and power industry and exports them to the European markets. During 199697, they commenced production of new switch types suitable for surface mounted devices in the automation and telecommunications industries, and in 199899 achieved UL/CSA recognition for their switches sold to the North American market pending ISO 9002 certification. However, the company's net profit in 199899 was reduced to 11.28 lacs due to exchange fluctuation loss. To ensure this will not affect their future performance, the company has restructuring plans in place to improve the plant's efficiency.
