About Spice Islands Industries Ltd

Sice Islands Apparels (SIA) was founded in 1988 as a private limited company and expanded into a public limited company in 1994. The firm was the brainchild of Umesh Katre, who had experience with the Stanrose group. Through the years, SIA has earned a lot of acclaim due to its product range of ladies and children’s wear, which they’ve been exporting to the UK, Japan, and countries within the European Commonwealth. Their Bhandup plant has a capacity of 600 tonnes, and they’ve also earned an SSI status from the Indian Government along with a coveted Export House status, making it possible for them to export to the European Market. In 1996-97, SIA also acquired 293600 Equity Shares of Bhupco Alloys Ltd and increased their holding from 51 to 99.93. Now, they’ve also diversified into the manufacturing of T-shirts.
