About Sayaji Hotels Ltd

Sayaji Hotels Ltd. (SHL) was established in 1982 and started operating in 1990. It was promoted by Razak D. Dhanani and is part of the group company M P Agra Fertilisers and Welterman International. To fund setting up a three-star hotel in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, SHL came out with a rights issue in 1995 aggregating Rs.3.27 crore. Currently, SHL has hotels in Vadodara, Gandhidham and other business centres such as Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Bhopal. In addition to hotel industry, the company also decided to diversify into the financial and power sectors. SHL expended the hotel at Gandhidham with 18 rooms and upgraded and refurbished Baroda. Furthermore, the undertaking of Indore Hotel addition of 88 rooms was transferred to a wholly owned subsidiary company. During the year under review, SHL had also privately placed 500,000 equity shares of Rs. 10/- each on private placement or preferential basis.
