About S Chand & Company Ltd

S Chand And Company Limited is a leading education content provider in India with presence across CBSE ICSE and State Board affiliated schools. Established in 1970, the company focuses on early learning K12 and higher education segments. It has more than 10000 active book titles 2443 author relationships and 90 TPD print capacity. In Fiscal 2016, S Chand was the top K12 content provider with revenue of over Rs 300 crore. In 2005, the company was awarded the eClass project by the Government of Uttaranchal. In 2007, the company filed an application in the Delhi High Court for demerging its real estate and investments business. In 2011, they underwent corporate restructuring to focus on their education business and achieved consolidated revenue of over Rs 400 crore in fiscal 2015. In December 2016, S Chand acquired 74 shareholding stake of Chhaya Prakashani Private Limited. They came out with an initial public offer (IPO) in April 2017 and the stock debuted at Rs 707 per share on BSE on 9 May 2017. In April 2018, the company approved the investment in Smartivity Labs Pvt. Ltd. upto an amount of Rs 40 lakh and granted approval to enter into a strategic alliance with PDM Inc. In August 2018, the Board approved acquisition of 51st partnership interest in Chetana Publications India LLP for an amount of Rs 58.50 crore.
