About Rungta Irrigation Ltd

Rungta Irrigation Limited (RIL) was established in 1986 as Jindal Irrigation Pvt Ltd. The company was taken over by the Rungta Group in 199293 and renamed to its current name. It is led by R S Rungta, the chairman, and its associated companies are Rungta Projects, Rungta Carriers and Sutterfield Trade Investments. To establish a new unit to produce sprinkler irrigation systems, HDPE and PVC pipes, fittings and components, RIL went public with a premium of RS 50 in March 1995, raising a total of Rs. 14.28 crore. The company also offers services, including assembly and design. To diversify into drip irrigation systems, RIL has collaborated with Unicor Rohrsysteme (Germany) and EinTal (Israel). It had an export turnover of Rs. 1.26 crore in 199394. To better serve its customers, the company proposed to set up a second unit in Himachal Pradesh in 199596 and launched its pesticide products in 199899, leading to increased profitability.
