About Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals was incorporated in 1985 and promoted by the late G Varadraj from the Coimbatore based P S G family. The company manufactures white crystal sugar (6000 tpd) and industrial alcohol (45 KL/day), which is then used for a range of other chemical products such as acetic acid, butanol and ethyl acetate, to name a few. In 1992-93, a rights issue was initiated to part finance the alcohol project. During 1998-99, the company successfully exported 12,324,240 KWH of power to the state grid and also captive used 220,566,12 KWH. Following the success, the company decided to install a 22 MW Cogeneration facility at Mundiampakkam with an estimated cost of Rs. 65 crores by December 2004 part funded by internal accruals and Banks/FIs. In addition, RSCL acquired South India Sugars Limited (Situated at Villupuram, TN) in 2001.
