About Piccadily Sugar & Allied Inds Ltd

Incorporated in March 1993 in the assisted sector by the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation, the Piccadily group manufactures white crystal sugar to be used domestically, in confectionery and pharmaceuticals. Their byproducts are molasses, bagasse and power, with the molasses used in the alcohol and citric acid industry and the bagasse used as a raw material in the paper industry or to generate power. To part-finance a 2,500 tcd plant and power generation, the company launched a public issue in February 1994. The company has focussed on developing quality cane in the area allotted to them by giving various incentives like interest-free loans, subsidised rates, free testing of soils and others. Projecting to crush 30.00 lac quintals of sugarcane for the year 200304, Piccadily has been declared a sick industrial company with the BIFR.
