About NRB Bearings Ltd

NRB Bearings is an IndoFrench Joint venture between Nadella France and Trilochan Sahney and has a 26 stake held by the French partner. It is a pioneer in the manufacture of needle bearings in India and has diversified into the manufacture of cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, ball bearings, taper roller bearings with technical know-how from France. In April 1991, Sahney Steel and Press Works merged with NRB Bearings, which boasts major customers like Maruti Udyog, Mahindra & Mahindra, Telco, Ashok Leyland and others. In March 1995, a public issue was done to finance the installation of balancing equipment at the Jalna unit and an Engineering Center was set up in Thane. Expansion led to an increased capacity of 2.1 million nos for various types of ball and roller bearings in 1999-2000. NRB has a joint venture, NRB Torrington, with the Torrington Company US and two subsidiary companies - Essen Marketing Services Ltd. and SNL Bearings (formerly Shriram Needle Bearing Industries Ltd.). SNL became part of NRB Bearings when it acquired 63.98% of its equity in June 2001. With TUV certification for QS9000 and ISO9002, NRB Bearings is focused on becoming a strong player in the need bearing segment.
