About Nicco Parks & Resorts Ltd

Nicco Parks Resorts Ltd (NPRL), a Joint Sector Company formed in 1989, was created by the Government of West Bengal in collaboration with National Insulated Cable Co. from the private sector to build an Amusement Park on the outskirts of Calcutta. This successful project was implemented with technical advice from Blackpool Leisure Amusement Consultancy Ltd. of the UK and opened to the public in 1991. In 1998-99 the company was awarded ISO 9902 1994 Quality Systems certification and the following year entered into a technical collaboration with the same consultancy to manufacture and install India’s first ever wooden roller coaster ride. In 2000-2001 the company opened a theme restaurant next to Nicco Super Bowl, which was decorated on a sports theme and air-conditioned. These initiatives have been taken to encourage wholesome family entertainment and to draw in tourists to the State.
