Company Information

Manipal Finance Corporation was incorporated in March 1984. Promoted by the Pais family of Manipal, it is engaged in hire purchase financing, leasing, and general insurance agency, guarantee and indemnity services. During 1994-95, the company opened two new branches, increasing its total number of branches to 50. Due to limited borrowing capacity, the desired improvement in disbursements under its hire-purchase scheme was not possible. The improved net worth and additional reserves as of March 1995 enabled the company to increase its borrowing capacity. For the year 1999-2000, the company suffered a loss of Rs. 1591.16 lakhs, which was much higher than the Rs. 177.54 lakh in the previous year. With plans to widen its business prospects in the field of Money Transfer activity, Manipal Finance Corporation is poised to improve in the near future.
