About Laffans Petrochemicals Ltd

Laffans Petrochemicals Limited was incorporated in 1992 and is located in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. The company is involved in manufacturing and trading of petroleum chemicals and petrochemical derivatives for paint and automobile industries. Technical assistance is taken from Reliance and IPLC for manufacturing ethylene oxide derivatives. The company has a locational advantage, its plant is situated at Panoli Ankleshwar at a distance of 60km from Reliance and 70 km from IPCL. It produces speciality chemicals such as surfactants, fatty alcohols, glycol ethers, ethanol amines, polyethylene glycols, and various products are sold under the brand name ‘Laffcols’. Major customers include Goodlass Nerolac, Jenson Nicholson, Berger Paints, Asian Paints, Castrol, and Kalyani Brakes. Laffans Petrochemicals tied up with Altachem Belgium, and Akzo Nobel Sweden, involving investments from both partners and technology transfer. In 2009, they collaborated with Huntsman Chemicals for manufacturing of ethylene oxide derivatives under Huntsman brand. In 2011, their manufacturing unit was acquired by Huntsman Corporation which further engaged in trading of chemicals and API. The company had an expansion plan of 10,000 MTPA along with an investment of Rs.800 lacs, to be funded from internal generation and institutional loans, amounting to Rs.600 lacs.
