About Indian Hume Pipe Company Ltd

Indian Hume Pipe Company Ltd, established in 1926 and part of the Walchand Harichand group, are the leading manufacturers of Hume Pipes, Hume Steel Pipes, Prestressed Concrete Pipes, Bar Wrapped Steel Cylinder Pipes, Steel Penstock Pipes, RCC Poles, Septic Tanks, RCC Lampposts and Manhole covers. The company undertakes contracts for various state governments, municipal corporations and power projects for water supply, sewage schemes, lift irrigation schemes and penstock erection. In 1979, National Rifles merged with IHP, however, due to unsatisfactory business prospects in Sri Lanka, the company exited by selling the stake in Industrial Hume Pipe Company to a local director in par value. During 19992000, IHP completed and commissioned the work of erection of Penstocks for Koyna and Narmada Power Projects. By 200102, the company had accelerated operations by starting a new project in Almatti, Karnataka and closing down a factory in Nizamabad and two projects. The company has recommended a 25 buy-back of shares and has completed a Development Agreement for their factory land in Antop Hill, Mumbai for Rs.39 crores.
