About Ganga Papers India Ltd

Kasat Paper & Pulp KPPL was established as a Private Limited Company in 1985 by Shriram R Kasat and Shrikant M Kasat. In 1992 it was converted into a Public Limited Company, manufacturing Kraft paper for corrugated cartons and boxes. It had a capacity of 6000 Tones Per Annum (TPA) before expansion to 15000 TPA in 1993-94. In the same year, the company established a Joint Venture with a UAE resident for the manufacture of printed cartons, sheets and trays, it holds a 49% stake in the venture. To boost operations further, the company is setting up manufacturing units for Newsprint which is 10000 TPA and White Writing/Printing Paper which is 5000 TPA. To finance this project, they released a Public Issue of 2833340 Equity Shares each worth Rs 10 (with a premium of Rs 20 per share) aggregating Rs 85000200 in April 1996. Finally, they are also setting up a Cogeneration Plant with a capacity of 1.4 MW for captive consumption.
