Cosco India CIL is a part of the Enkay Rubber group which was established in 1980 as a private limited company. In 1995, the company went public and launched an offering of 10.4 lac equity shares, with the aim of expanding production and meeting longterm working capital needs. They have an extensive product range of sports balls such as rubber moulded tennis balls, synthetic sports balls, butyl bladders and table tennis balls. Their goods have been used by multiple sports organisations and approximately 50% of their sales come from exports to countries such as the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company was awarded a Special Export Award by AllIndia Rubber Industries Association for sports goods in 199394. To improve their quality, they have installed a Rehometer as well as water absorbtion machines. They are also engaged in modernising their Gurgaon unit but had to temporarily halt the production of table tennis balls due to a fire in May 1996.
