About Bombay Wire Ropes Ltd

Bombay Wire Ropes Ltd was established in 1961. During the year 2013 the company's wire rope manufacturing and wood furniture making businesses were closed down. The developer had entered into an agreement with the Company in 2005 for the development of land, however a dispute led to its termination in 2007 and was referred to arbitration. During the year under review, the Company, along with its confirming party, settled their disputes and it was approved by the High Court of Bombay. This resulted in an increased aggregate consideration of Rs. 28.64 crores from the developer. The year also saw the redemption of 35,000 of the 9.50 Non Convertible Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares. 5000 9.50 Non Convertible Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares were however transferred to current liabilities due to no response from the holders. Lastly, the subdivision of equity shares from Rs.10 to Rs.1 took place in 2016.
