About Asian Star Company Ltd

Founded in November 1971, Asian Star Company is a publically-listed business providing a range of services related to diamonds – from importation of rough diamonds to cutting, polishing, and export of cut and polished diamonds. Spearheaded by Dinesh Tarachand Shah and supported by promoters Vipul Shah, Arvind Tarachand Shah, and Dharmesh Shah, the business is carried out from its facilities in Mumbai, Surat, Gujarat, and Thala Chikli. In January 1993, it became a sightholder of Diamond Trading Company (DTC) thanks to its performance, and in March 1995, it was listed on the public markets. To further its objectives, Asian Star Co. launched a public issue in 1995, offering 2,670,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each for a cash premium of Rs. 65, totaling Rs. 20,02,50,00 lakh, to be used for investing in the company's diamond-related business. Asian Star is currently in discussion with DTC for a larger allocation of rough diamonds, as well as for introducing global marketing campaigns.
