Ajanta Pharma is a specialty pharmaceutical company with a wide range of products spanning across 30 countries. It works across therapeutic segments including AntiBiotic AntiMalarial AntiDiabetic Cardiology Gynecology Orthopedics Pediatric Respiratory and General Health products. Founded in 1973, it is headquartered in Mumbai India and has a mission of Serving Global Health Care Needs Worldwide. In their 47 years of operations, they have grown their operations by adding 7 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, 2 in India approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). Their Research & Development Centre in Mumbai has a team of over 750 scientists working on innovative products that are supplied to various government bodies in India, the US market and WHO approved programmes in Africa. The company also has 6 subsidiaries and 1 step-down subsidiary worldwide with investments in capex growing from Rs 997 crore to Rs 1225 crore. In addition, the company also has undertaken buybacks of 769230 equity shares in March 2019 and 735000 equity shares in November 2020. 16 new products were launched in FY2022, including 4 1st to market products in the country, 3 new products were launched with 8 ANDAs being filed and receiving 2 final and 1 tentative approval with 20 more pending approval from the USFDA.
