If any member of the EPF scheme has any queries, doubts, or complaints regarding the EPF scheme, the employees can register the online grievance on the EPF i-Grievance management system with the help of EPFO. Any contributing member on the EPF portal can complain about the grievance online. There are simple steps we’ll go through together to register your complaint for EPF. What Does EPF Grievance Management System Mean?

EPFiGMS (EPF Grievance Management System) is the official portal which is helpful for registering complaints, queries, and grievances related to EPF (Employee Provident Fund). Anyone can register on EPFiGMS. The official portal dashboard is open to everyone, including employers, contributing PF members, and EPF pensioners who are receiving retirement money.

Registering Complaints on EPFiGMS Regarding Spectrum of Issues

You can raise your complaints and register the grievances on a wide range of issues, which are as follows:

  • Withdrawal or transfer of provident funds
  • Issues regarding the final settlement of PF
  • Complaints against Form 10C
  • Doubts regarding the scheme certificate
  • Misplacement or return of the cheque
  • Query regarding settlement of pension
  • Form 5(IF) issue or insurance payment
  • Provident fund balance or slip query
  • Others

Steps to Register Grievance Complain on EPFiGMS (EPF i-Grievance Management System)

If you want to raise a complaint on EPFiGMS, you need to follow a few easy steps. Let’s see how to register an EPF Grievance online:

  • Step 1: First, open any web browser on your computer and type EPFiGMS, which is the official website of the EPF i-Grievance Management System.
  • Step 2: The home page of the website will have options like 'Home', ‘Register Grievance', ‘Send Reminder', ‘View Status', and ‘Upload Grievance Document'. From the drop-down menu on the left, you can change the language of the website.
  • Step 3: Select the ‘Register Grievance’ option by clicking on it. A new section will appear. In a form-like manner, this section will have fields like 'Status', ‘Universal Account Number', and a ‘Security Code’.
  • Step 4: Moving ahead, choose the options that apply to you in the ‘Status’ (PF Member, EPS Pensioner, Employer, Others) section. Be careful with your selection here.
  • Step 5: There can be cases where you might or might not have the Universal Account Number; the option ‘Others’ must be the choice in this case.
  • Step 6: Cautiously type in your UAN number in the field provided for it and enter the displayed characters on the left of  ‘Security Code’ in the space given to the right of it.
  • Step 7: Tap on 'Get Details'. If the information you entered is correct, your Universal Account Number, Email Address, Name, and Mobile Number will be displayed on the screen.
  • Step 8: An OTP will be needed to proceed from this stage, so keep your mobile phone nearby. There will be a red button named ‘Get OTP'. Tap on it to receive the password.
  • Step 9: As the verification is completed, you will see a ‘Personal Details’ section. The Provident Fund account number will be displayed, and you can select the relevant one from it.
  • Step 10: Under it, there will be a ‘Grievance Details’ form-like section. Select the relevant options in ‘Grievance Related to’ and ‘Grievance Category’ and fill in the details in ‘Grievance Description'.
  • Step 11: If needed, attach the support files using ‘Choose Files’ and attach them by pressing ‘Attach’.

Registration numbers and details will be sent by SMS and mail. Once verification of the complaint is done, it takes around two weeks to a month for it to be resolved.

Process to Check the Status of EPF Complaint

There are a few simple steps to check the status of your registered complaint in the portal, which are as follows:

  • Step 1: Visit the same website where you have submitted the grievance, which is  EPFiGMS.
  • Step 2: Among other options like 'Home', ‘Send Reminder', etc., hover the mouse over ‘View Status’ and click on it.
  • Step 3: A form will be displayed. The sections of this form will contain ‘Registration Number’, ‘Grievance Password’, ‘Mobile Number/Email Address', and ‘Security Code’.
  • Step 4: Fill in the correct registration numbers that were received after submitting the grievance.
  • Step 5: Enter the password carefully, and then fill in either your mobile number or email address at your convenience.
  • Step 6: Fill in the ‘Security Code’ by entering the displayed code and press the yellow ‘Submit’ button after filling out every section.
  • Step 7: The present status of the complaint will be visible on the display.

Process to Send Reminder Regarding EPF Complaint

After registering the grievance, if your issue has not been resolved yet, you can follow the steps below to send a reminder regarding your complaint:

  • Step 1: If the complaint is not solved for a long time, browse the EPF Grievance Management website.
  • Step 2: On the top bar, select the ‘Sent Reminder’ option, which is beside the ‘Register Grievance’
  • Step 3: A new form will be shown on the screen. The sections of this form will contain ‘Registration Number’, ‘Grievance Password’, ‘Mobile Number/Email Address', ‘Reminder Description', and 'Security Code’.
  • Step 4: Check for caps lock or num lock and enter the password carefully, then move below and enter your contact number and contact email ID.
  • Step 5: Thoroughly describe your reminder in a polite manner in the ‘Reminder Description’ field, and after entering the displayed numbers in ‘Security Code', select the ‘Submit’ button beside the ‘Reset’ button to confirm the reminder submission regarding your complaint.
