Tesla Inc. is an American electric automobile manufacturer founded in 2003 in California, the United States, by Elon Musk, Ian Wright, Martin Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning, and JB Straubel. The company aims to provide environment-safe auto solutions and thus functions on the idea of sustainable energy solutions. The company is also engaged in the sale of solar roofs and solar panels to generate clean energy. The company also offers an integrated rechargeable battery system under the brand name Powerwall, which can store the energy generated by this solar equipment and be used for residential and commercial purposes. Tesla is currently the world’s largest automobile manufacturer in value by crossing $1 trillion in market cap. The company went public with an Initial Public Offer (IPO) in 2010 and got listed on NASDAQ under the ticker TSLA. The electric vehicle producer reported revenue of $13.8 billion in the third quarter of the 2021 fiscal year and a net income of $1.62 billion. Tesla also recently announced a record-breaking delivery of 241,391 vehicles in the third quarter of the current fiscal. Tesla Inc. has several electric vehicles to offer as a part of its fleet, including sedans, both mid-size and full-size, along with compact and mid-size SUVs. The company has also announced plans to launch a Cyber Truck after 2022, which will serve as an electric pickup truck, providing better utility than a truck and superior performance than a sports car. Currently, the auto giant acts as a parent to more than 50 subsidiaries spanning the clean energy and electric vehicles space.
