"Baidu Inc. is a Chinese multinational technology company to make the complicated world simpler through technology with headquarters in Beijing’s Haidian District. It was founded in the year 2000 by Robin Li and Eric Xu. Baidu started as a search engine platform, and they were amongst the early adopters of AI in 2010. It is one of the very few companies in the world to offer a full AI stack. They have developed a diversified portfolio of products and services in the last two decades with significant market opportunities. Some Baidu services include Baidu Maps, Baidu Wangpan, Baidu Tieba, Baidu News, Baidu Knows, Baidu Image Search, Baidu Translate, etc. Baidu consists of two segments: Baidu Core, which contributes to about 70% of the turnover, and iQIYI, which contributes the remaining. Baidu Core mainly provides online value-added marketing and non-marketing services. They also provide products and services from new AI initiatives, which powers them with three growth engines: Mobile Ecosystem, AI Cloud and Intelligent Driving, and other growth initiatives. In 2001, Baidu started allowing advertisers to bid for the ad space on its search engine. It became the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 index in 2007. Baidu announced the launch of its Apollo project in April 2017, which helped drive the development of autonomous cars, which included vehicles, hardware, open-source software platform, and cloud data services. In August 2021, it revealed a new Robocar concept, that is, capable of Level 5 autonomous driving. Currently Baidu, Inc. has a market cap of $54.41 Billion. It has a P.E ratio of 13.96.
