About Vardhman Acrylics Ltd

Vardhman Acrylics Ltd is an India-based company engaged in the production of acrylic fiber and tow, marketed under the "VARLAN" brand. They have a 18000 TPA plant in Jhagadia Bharuch and their products are used in various industries including hosiery, weaving and home furnishing. The company was originally formed into a public limited company in 1990, however due to lack of viability the project was deferred. In 1995, the Vardhman Group decided to form Vardhman Fibres Ltd, to supply the project with technology and equipment. Subsequently, the registered office was transferred to Punjab, and Vardhman Acrylics Ltd has been a subsidiary of Mahavir Spinning Mills Ltd since. The company saw collaborative efforts with Marubeni Corporation Japan and Japan Exlan Company Ltd, and the project was kicked off in August 1996. The commercial production commenced in March 1999 and the production capacity increased from 16500 MT to 18000 MT in 200607 and to 20000 MT in 200910. Over the years, Vardhman Textiles Ltd has disinvested 273,68527 shares of the company, and assumed control of shares held by respective foreign collaborators in 2008.
