About Rajkamal Synthetics Ltd

Rajkamal Synthetics, formerly known as Balaji Prints Pvt Ltd, was incorporated in May 1981 as a private limited company. It was subsequently converted to a public limited company in December 1982 and commenced its textile processing activities the same year, investing in rental machineries. In 1983, the company set up a cotton-synthetic textile processing unit in Dombivli in Thane District, Maharashtra. In 1986, the company opened a division International Cloth Agency in Bombay. To finance the expansion of their Sachin, Surat plant, in 1989 the company issued 4.5 lakh nonconvertible debentures of Rs.100 each, for Rs. 450 lakhs. However, due to lack of working capital, this plant was shut down in June 1993. Consequently, it was sold to Mittal Fabric Manufacturing Co Pvt Ltd for Rs.175 lakh in March 1996.
