About SGN Telecoms Ltd

SGN Telecoms Ltd, previously known as SGN Cable Industries, was established in 1986 as a private limited company. It was converted to a public limited company in January 1993 and was promoted by Davinder Singh and Surinder Singh. Initially, SGN Industries was a partnership firm, which manufactured aluminium conductor steel reinforced ACSR conductors with an installed capacity of 1000 km per annum. In August 1993, the company took over SGN Industries and began manufacturing PVC power and control cables with a capacity of 1500 km per annum. In 1995-1996, the company upgraded its products, with a PVC power cable capacity of 2000 km per annum, an ACSR conductor capacity of 2300 km per annum, an XLPE cable capacity of 700 km per annum and a data cable capacity of 200 km per annum. This caused the company to issue a public issue in March 1996 in order to finance its expansions. The products of SGN Telecommunications are being used for the prestigious Prithvi and Agni missiles by the Indian Government, Ministry of Defence Research and Development Organisation. Additionally, it sells its products directly to various State Electricity Boards.
