About Metroglobal Ltd

Global Boards was established in November 1992 by Raj Investments Hong Kong and the Saraf family. It became a public company with the launch of an issue in March 1994 and produces chrome boards, art boards and castcoated boards with an installation capacity of 40,000 tons per annum (tpa). Chrome boards are used in consumer durables and non-durables, along with food and pharma industries, while art boards are used exclusively in the graphic sector covering printing and publishing activities such as greeting cards, magazines, books, journals and more. The company encountered technical difficulties and a plague epidemic, delaying the project, until finally commercial production began in August 1996. However, due to the accumulated losses exceeding net worth, Global Boards has been declared a sick company and referred to the BIFR for detailed review.
