About Metal Coatings (India) Ltd

Metal Coatings India (MCIL) was established in 1994, taking over the assets and liabilities of an existing firm set up in 1988. Located at Faridabad, Uttar Pradesh, MCIL’s specialism is in the manufacture of galvanised steel cable tapes (GST) for polysethylene insulated jelly filled (PIJF) cable industry. Initially it had an installed capacity of 3200 tonnes per annum (tpa) which was then increased to 7400tpa. In order to meet the rising demand, MCIL went on to increase their capacity to 13200tpa. A public issue in 1996 was launched to finance an expansion and backward integration scheme, also resulting in the installation of a 13000tpa cold rolled mill and 12300tpa slitting unit. In the financial year of 1999-2000, MCIL reported a turnover of 5004.94million Indian rupees, representing an increase of 16% compared to the year before.
