About Medi Caps Ltd

Medicaps was founded in 1983 by S L Mittal and became a public limited company in 1986. It is currently the second-largest manufacturer of empty hard gelatine capsules in India, producing 3440 million capsules per annum. The company has 40 clients, including US Vitamins, SOL Pharmaceuticals, Dr Reddys Laboratories, Lupin Laboratories, Aristo Pharmaceuticals, and many others. In 1995, it raised Rs 9.19 crore to expand the manufacturing facilities by offering 6.11 lakh rights shares, and achieved zero-defect production. In 1993, the company received the Glory of India International Award, with R C Mittal receiving it personally. In 1995-96, it increased the capacity to 2500 lac, and in 1998-99, received ISO 9002 Certification. The company developed six sizes of Hard Gelatin capsules in 2002-03 and is soon commissioning its 13th Machine with 100 automisation. It is also catering to export markets in China, Thailand, Dubai, Malaysia, South Africa, and the Philippines.
