About Gufic BioSciences Ltd

Gufic Biosciences (GBL) was established as a result of a reverse merger of itself and Central Finance at Rs 4042 per share, allowing for the company to be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The Choksi and Gandhi family, the promoters of GBL, have a long-standing background in the pharmaceutical industry, having formed the joint venture company, Lyka Labs, in 1960. Gufic Biosciences, known as Gujarat Fine Chemicals, first operated in the bulk drug space, before moving into the formulation market. GBL currently offers ethical, herbal, consumer, and bulk drugs, both domestically and internationally, and have a history of creating leading brands. In 2000, GBL issued bonus equity shares at 5:2, and more recently the company has divested some of its assets in the ethical pharma business, with plans to reinvest in R&D activities, and to further invigorate the potential of the herbal and consumer product segments. With traditional knowledge in India, Gufic will be operating from a position of strength around those specific areas.
